PGPD Investigates Murder in Brandywine

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in Brandywine. The victim is identified as 31-year-old Devine Lionell Wood of Turtle Dove Place in Waldorf.

On October 26, 2014, a family member reported Wood missing in Charles County. Family members had limited information that suggested Wood was last seen in Prince George’s County. PGPD officers searched for Wood in the Brandywine area on the evening of October 26, 2014, but were unable to locate him. On October 27, 2014, at about 6:00 pm, officers were called to the 17600 block of Bevard Road for a possible body. When they arrived, they found a body in a secluded area of Brandywine. Investigators were able to identify the victim as Wood. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.
