PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Riverdale Park. The victim is 54-year-old Jose Berrios.

On April 24, 2016, at about 9:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue at River Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, the officers found the victim suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals a car heading northbound on Kenilworth Avenue struck Berrios as he tried to cross the street. He was not in a crosswalk at the time. The driver of the car remained on the scene. She was not hurt.
