Detectives Arrest Suspect in Landover Hills Homicide

The Homicide Unit has arrested a man in connection with Friday’s homicide in Landover Hills. The suspect is 61-year-old Robert James Crosby of the 4100 block of 71st Avenue in Landover Hills. 

At about 6:00 pm on July 8th, patrol officers and officers from the Landover Hills Police Department were called to the 4100 block of 71st Avenue to check on the welfare of a woman inside of her home. Officers found the victim, 62-year-old Lenise Fredericks, suffering from trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the motive is robbery. The victim and suspect were neighbors. Crosby is charged with first degree murder and robbery. He’s in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
