Detectives Arrest Suspect in Temple Hills Homicide

The Homicide Unit arrested the suspect in connection with a homicide in Temple Hills. The suspect is 30-year-old Mitchell Hall of the 3200 block of Dubois Place in Washington, DC. He’s charged with fatally shooting 30-year-old Hakim Akinbi of 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills.

On May 23, 2016, at about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway for a shooting. They found Akinbi outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and the victim were involved in an ongoing dispute.

Hall is charged with first and second degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
