Detectives Investigate Homicide in Seat Pleasant

Detectives are investigating a homicide in Seat Pleasant. The victim is 34-year-old Jamal Barnes of Calder Drive in Capitol Heights. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On February 7th, at about 12:00 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department responded to the 6400 block of Central Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from trauma to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.


Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.
