PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Bladensburg

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Bladensburg. The victim is 34-year-old Ismael Perez Barahona of Upshur Street in Mount Rainier.

On March 11th, around 10:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4800 block of Lawrence Street for a collision involving one car. Officers found the victim, who was the front seat passenger, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the car suffered what preliminarily appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was traveling southbound on Kenilworth Avenue. For reasons which remain under investigation, the driver lost control, struck a curb and ultimately came to rest after striking a parked car.
